So Much for Second Opinions! PDF Print E-mail

Well, I was holding out hope that my ultrasound would tell me what I wanted to hear.  It did...and it didn't.   First, everything is great with the baby.  It is measuring right on track, fluid levels are good, and everything is where it's supposed to be.  Now here's the part where I didn't hear what I wanted.  They checked the gender again.  Yep, it's still a girl.  It was a different tech this time and even though she had a hard time getting a clear shot, she finally did.  She showed me where girl parts were, and as much I would like to dispute the fact, they were girl parts.  So, even though I'm sad that I won't be having a boy, I am excited to get another little girl.

So Forgetful! PDF Print E-mail

I'm bad enough normally with forgetting things, but add in the pregnancy influence and forget it.  Like I tell people, my children are so smart because they took part of my brain with them at birth and sucked out the rest when I nursed them.  I think it gets worse with each pregnancy.  Seriously, though.  I sometimes forget that I'm pregnant.  Then I feel the baby kick and remember.  I mean can you really forget that you're pregnant when you've got a belly the size of a small beach ball?  I'm six months pregnant!  Who forgets that they've been pregnant for six months!  I blame the hormones.

Other news, we've ordered the carpet for our bedroom.  We went for Option C, reasonably priced carpet from Lowe's.  So, I should have my room back completely by the end of the month.  (The carpet's supposed to get here on the 20th, but they said that it usually comes sooner than expected.)  But then I have to wait for Daniel to get the time to install it.  He says that it's not that hard and shouldn't take very long.  That's if he can have a few uninterrupted hours to work on it.  He's been pretty busy, as usual.

On Sunday, we moved our bed back into our bedroom. Mind you, there is still no carpet, but it's painted and the new lights and blinds are in. It is so nice to have my bed back in my room. Although, I do miss having my bed in the living room. It's just so hard to sit up on the couch after being able to lay down in bed for so long.  All we have left to do it the carpet. We did go look at carpet at one place on Saturday. The carpet that we really liked would be about $1000 and that's if we install it ourselves (which we will). Our second choice would be about $700. Ok, I understand that nice carpet is expensive, but my bedroom is not that big. $1000 for a 12x16 room, come on! So, when Daniel gets a day where he can take off for a few hours we'll check a few more places for carpet. But for now, I will deal with a cement floor that has traces of drywall dust on it.

With Daniel working for himself now, we were able to take the girls to Red Rock for a hike on Monday.  Daniel thought that the Turtlehead Peak would be a good one.  I was helping him research it the night before and this is what one website said about it:

I am happy to announce that I am no longer a working mother. I can now devote all my time to my family. I really loved working at preschool, but it became necessary for me to resign. I had a wonderful time with all the kids that I was with and will miss them. But, I am very excited to be able to devote my time to my girls and hopefully put in a few volunteer hours at their schools before the end of the year.
